Again, not much to share. Drove from Badlands NP in South Dakota to Minneapolis, Minnesota.
One thing that did surprise me was how frequently I was stopping for gas and filling up. I figured the bad mileage was either the headwinds or ethanol in the gas. Here you have the option of 15%, pay more for 10% and pay even more for 0%. I decided to try the 0%. Definitely a difference, and while I haven’t calculated the exact cost difference, I’m pretty sure paying 40 cents more for 0% is cheaper than buying the high-octane cheaper fuel.
The only other observation that occurred in my travels was the memory flash that hit me when I crossed into Minnesota. My childhood friend, Peggy, used to visit her Minnesota cousins in the summer and I recall receiving a letter with a folded tissue filled with mosquitos. We jokingly used to call them “tse tse flies”. That memory just made me laugh as I came into Minnesota.
Arrived late and did some catching up with Danny, and picked up Lucas at midnight. More to share — with photos. Stay tuned.
