OMFG, today was my worst day of travel so far. The winds were ripping across the land so hard, making it difficult to keep the truck and trailer steady. Whenever a big rig would pass me – which was frequent – the suction from the semi would pull my truck in a bit, enough to make it feel as though for a split second I didn’t have control. I hated those big ass trucks. Made me cuss a LOT today. There was one segment of the journey where dust was so stirred up that I could barely see in front of me. Luckily, that didn’t last too long.
I’m now in New Mexico. The campground is a bit hard to describe. It’s definitely sparse and still under construction. I feel safe here with a couple of big RVs around me, and the people who run the park are super friendly. Tomorrow I’ll have internet connection so I can send photos. The folks here got me all set up with a router and hard-wire to a box but it just wouldn’t work. I figured it was the internet company as I was able to connect to the router fine. He called the late night tech line; sure enough, they hadn’t started his service yet. Ha. I’ll get it tomorrow.
Tomorrow, I’m taking a tour of the Caverns of Carlsbad NP. Stay tuned . . .
Carol!
You’re doing a great job! You’ve covered a lot of ground…and sounds like seeing a lot of family! Fun!
Vanessa
Thanks, Vanessa. So nice to know you’re following. I’m glad to have you watching over my journey. Safety is paramount!!
Oh goodness it was crazy wind today. We had Chris’s Sister funeral and it was like her in soo many ways.. She spoke her mind no matter what.. and that would be Chris but we are reflecting on your time spent with us.. Thank you soo much including us and please don’t forget us..
No way would I forget! Stories abound from this trip, and that visit with you and Chris at the JM House is at the top of the list!
