Today was definitely a down day – a well-deserved down day. I awoke late, had a leisurely breakfast with delicious coffee, took the pooches for a walk, then decided to head into town to one, replace the broken shower head and two buy the necessary supplies to reattach the medicine cabinet to the wall.
Made a 15 minute drive to Home Depot and realized I had left my purse in the trailer. Aargh! Back to fetch my purse, then back to Home Depot. Bought what I think I’ll need for the trailer. Attached the shower head this evening and will attempt the medicine cabinet tomorrow.
This is a beautiful campground in Wompatuck State Park with lots of wooded space between the campsites. The only downside is that everyone seems to be having a campfire and my eyes burn and the air is not so easy to breathe. But I’ll take it. It’s a cozy spot.
Tonight I spent some time reviewing the materials I had photographed from the historical society in Maine. Everything I read made Anthony Murray come alive. In 1802 he served as a “hogreave” which was an officer whose responsibilities were to keep stray swine under control. In 1806, he served as a highway surveyor. Getting information on ancestors back that far does not come easily; I feel fortunate to find these gems.
Tomorrow, the medicine cabinet, more relaxation and hiking.
