Guess who came to greet me when I arrived at the Minneapolis airport? Of course, my son Lucas, but with him was Kipper! Slept at his feet the whole flight, and now we get to enjoy his company for the next several days.
Apologies for skipping a couple of days. It was family, family, family time with Dan, his son Eli, Lucas and me. Dan is the manager of a brew pub called Bear Cave Brewing located in historic Hopkins, MN. This is quite the modern pub. You just pick up a card, flash it at the tap wall and pour the beer of your choosing. Total fun.
Not really much to share. We took a lot of chat time to catch up, Eli helped us exercise the dogs (and says he wants to keep Kipper as his for the next 30 years), watched Danny perform some of his firefighter training exercises, and of course, since Danny is a sublime chef, we were treated to some wonderful meals.
Got off early this morning to visit a friend of Lucas, then drove, drove, drove as we accumulated toll after toll after toll. Wow, is it ever expensive to drive across Illinois and Indiana! I have to say, it made me kind of grouchy. My words in the car were a little stronger than that, but I’ll leave it at grouchy for now.
Tomorrow more driving, and we decided to make our route run through Canada. O Canada!

Lucas, Kipper, beer…does it get any better??? The adventures continue!
Cheers
