As I mentioned in yesterday’s blog, I had a bit of shopping to do. Most important . . . found a roaster and bought some coffee beans. Can’t wait to try them tomorrow morning!
Not much to share today. Took the dogs for a longer walk and discovered that the trail through the forest ended up at the top of the KOA near the children’s park. Made for a very nice adventure. Did that twice today.
You’d think I’d be done probing the internet for Anthony Murray information, but noooo. I kept digging this morning, and of course, just ended up with dead ends. My forest walk yielded better results. I did find an interesting volume of Scottish “Red Books”. In there are lists upon lists of Scottish families, and the Murrays did not disappoint. I found one Anthony Murray who fought in the Battle of Culloden, survived and escaped to America – perfect timing, 1746, the year before Anthony was born. However, records show that his son, Anthony, remained in Scotland. That would have been so cool – to have a Murray ancestor escape the Jacobite Rebellion only to end up in Maryland to start a family here – my family. Alas, that was not to be.
Also picked up some dog food and refilled my propane tank. I’m all ready to head out tomorrow and end up in a West Virginia KOA. I probably could make it all the way to Indiana, but I’m kind of done with the super long drives. I’ve been here four days now, so I will empty the black and grey tanks tomorrow prior to getting on the road. I can’t wait! The black tank valve is leaking, so each time I open the cap, yuck water comes spewing out before I can get the hose attached. My solution is to start with gloves, have a bucket sitting below the pipe, get the hose all ready to rapidly attach and voila – ½ a bucket of crap water that I pick up and pour down the drain. I’ve been watching YouTube videos on how to replace that valve. That will be a super fun project to do when I arrive home. =:–)
