After all that trailer adventure, it felt soooo nice to wake up late and take my time, savor a real cup of coffee and enjoy a casual breakfast. And the shower – oh so welcome. (Patched up the shower head with super glue and duct tape!)
It’s going to take me a while to traverse the country to reach Maine to do some Murray sleuthing. Between here and Maine, I’ve included visits to a few national and state parks. So, my blog will be sharing my travels until I find some ancestral information.
This was my first visit to Yellowstone NP. I had been told by two people recently that it wasn’t such a great spot, but I really liked it. The downside is that the crowds are enormous. The upside is that the NP has made it easy to visit sites even with the crowds. Saw mud pots and Old Faithful mid day, and drove the loop around Yellowstone lake until I was back at the starting point. Loved seeing the bison and elk along the road. Loved seeing Old Faithful.
And now I’m settled in for the evening. Tomorrow will be my longest driving day, so I’m planning to get up early and head out. I’ll end up at Badlands NP, but there I will not have connectivity, so my postings may be delayed a bit as I try and find wifi nearby. Stay tuned . . .
Love reading this. Sounds like a great trip. It will be fun to follow you along the way. We would have loved. To do this 10 years ago. Be safe. 💕🌈😇
Stay tuned?…I certainly will and can’t wait to hear what you find
Genealogy has been my life now for 45 years!
Really fun to hear of your travels! I agree Mt Rushmore was a bit disappointing, but we saw it after visiting the amazing Crazy Horse! Don’t miss Crazy Horse!
Take it easy and enjoy the journey.
Thanks, Lisa. Sorry, I was long gone by the time I read this note. Next trip!
